On the afternoon of May 25, the Alumni Association of The School of Management of Xi'an Jiaotong University held a visit and exchange activity of "entering an Distinguished alumni enterprise" – West Movie Group Co., Ltd. More than 70 people participated in the event, including Li Zhong, Secretary of the general Party branch of Xi'an Jiaotong University Press, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the Party committee; Mei Hong, deputy director of the social science department; Tian Gaoliang, deputy president; Ye Ning, deputy secretary, and the faculty of all departments of the college and alumni of all branches. This activity was led by MaXiaobin, Secretary of the college Party committee.
At 2:00 p.m., the leaders of West Movie group warmly welcomed the arrival of faculty and alumni in front of the time sculpture in West Movie group square. After the group photo shooting, the guide led us to visit the 1958 old office building, the avenue of stars, the Film Industry Museum, the Movie Museum of West Movie, the West Movie building, the film house, the art archives and other landmarks that represent West Movie culture. The whole visit fully demonstrated the great influence and contribution of the West Movie group in the historical changes of China's film industry, Everyone felt so touched and inspired by the cultural heritage of West Movie group and its vitality after the company’s reform.
The forum was hosted over by teacher Huang Fei. At first, Secretary Ma Xiaobin said in his speech that he was very happy to come to the cradle of western movie in China – West Movie Group to communicate and study, and congratulated alumnus Zhao Wentao on winning the 2022 Shaanxi provincial model worker. Through the visiting, we can fully understand the development and reform process of West Movie group, and feel moved and admired for the powerful force that West Movie Group has contributed to the development of Shaanxi film and television and the construction of a strong cultural awareness province in the new era, and the outstanding contribution it has made to the development of Chinese film industry. In 2022, affected by the COVID-19 and US trade frictions, a considerable number of alumni enterprises faced difficulties in their development. The Alumni Association gathered professors and alumni to get closer to representative distinguished alumni enterprises for in-depth communication, integrating the college's education, scientific research and the development needs of alumni Enterprises all together. The activity is meaningful, which not only fulfilled the needs of the college's academic subjects construction, but also fulfilled the needs of enterprise development. The Alumni Association will continue on providing a platform for everyone to learn and communicate, and promote the development of alumni along with the college.
Secondly, Secretary Ma presented a congratulatory letter to Chairman Zhao Wentao on behalf of the School of Management.
After watching the documentaries "The year in Zhao Jin" and "The Five years of West Movie – breaking the ice", chairman Zhao Wentao made a special report on "Meaning, System and Innovation". From a thorough review and analysis of the successful experience of the construction of Zhao Jin tourism town and the reform process of West Movie Group, the contents of the three major plates of "The Meaning of Life", "The Systematic Thinking mode " and "Training innovative thinking" are vividly and profoundly shared with all the audience. Zhao Wentao strongly advocate entrepreneurship and encourage the establishment of systematic thinking and innovative thinking. Then, interpreted the lyrics of the song "Xi'an has a sea" for the audience, and encourage everyone on self-confident in Shaanxi culture and Xi'an culture.
Tian Gaoliang, vice president of the School of Management, introduced the ground base of the school of management in detail, deepened the alumni's understanding of the dicipline development and scientific research direction of the it, and recognized the value of school- enterprise cooperation.
Mei Hong, deputy director of the social science department, said in her speech that the School of Management plays an important role in the advantageous academic subject of the Xian Jiaotong University, and the social science department will vigorously support the cooperation needs between the School of Management and alumni enterprises.
During the forum there was an Q&A session, Mr. Yao Xiaotao, Mr. Fang Chao, EMBA alumni Wang Wangang, Wang Weibo, MBA alumni Yang Nanhui, Tang Kaiyan, Zhao Mingpu, Chu Wei, Guo Jing and other alumni raised questions and exchanged their own thoughts and views on China film industry resources, cultural industry layout, movie industry development and other aspects.
At the end of the forum, Secretary Ma Xiaobin gave summarize about the activity, highly affirmed and praised the contributions made by alumni Zhao Wentao and West Movie Group in the cultural industry, and wished the alumni a brightening future of the enterprise. The School of Management will spare no effort to provide a platform for communication and interaction between the School and alumni.
