【摘要】:This research will basically argue that infrastructure—including bullet trains—tend to reallocate resources and shift economic dynamics, thus help reshape international
political and economic order.

Xiaobo Hu is Professor and Director of Clemson University Center for China Studies.His
research and teaching interests include privatization and property rights,economic reform policies,
institutional economics,international relations and international political economy,the U.S.-China relations,and the China’s rise and its global impact.
Dr. Hu has been awarded over twenty research grants and seven prestigious fellowships in
various countries, includingfellowships atthe Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C., the
Hoover Institution at Stanford University, National University of Singapore, the University of
Wollongong in Australia,andthe Shanghai Institute for International Studies.
Dr. Hu’s scholarly publications includeTransition towards Post-Deng China, China after Jiang, and Problems in China’s Transitional Economy, and Interpreting
U.S.-China-Taiwan Relations,plustwo dozens of journal articles and book chapters.In addition, hehas been a
designated writer for Encyclopedia Britannica yearbooks on China and a columnist for Greenville
Business Magazine.
Dr. Hu once served as President of Association of Chinese Political Studies (USA) and Co-Editor of Journalof Chinese Political Science. He also served as Oversea Delegate to the National
Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Hereceivedhis Ph.D. fromDuke University.
